Brent is Board Certified in
Personal Injury Trial Law and a member of The College of the
State Bar of Texas. He is a sustaining member of American Trial
Lawyers Association, a past chair of the Products Liability
Section of American Trial Lawyers Association, a director of
Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Attorneys Information Exchange
Group, a director of Houston Trial Lawyers Association and a
past President of the Fort Bend Bar Association. He is also a
member of the American Bar Association and Houston Bar
Association. He has been listed in Who's Who in American Law,
Who's Who in America, and Outstanding Young Men in America
Brent received his undergraduate
degree from the University of Texas in Austin in 1982. He
received his J.D. from South Texas College of Law in Houston,
Texas in 1986. From 1986 to 1990 he was an associate in the firm
of Waldman, Smallwood, & Grossman. In 1990 he became a named
shareholder in the firm of Waldman, Smallwood, Grossman &
Carpenter, P.C. In May of 1995 Brent and his wife Kathy formed
the firm of the Law Offices of Brent Carpenter, P.C. in Sugar
Land, Texas, which became Carpenter & Carpenter, P.C.
Brent was instrumental in setting up Suburban Roof Crush
Testing, the Toyota Litigation Group, Tire/Wheel
Mismatch Group, and Multi-piece Wheel Litigation Group. He has
written and presented papers and articles on such topics as
Tire/Wheel Mismatch -16/16.5, Toyota Litigation, How to
Interface with the Workers Compensation Case and the Employer in
Products Liability Litigation, Initial Investigation of a
Product Case, Protective Orders, Contention Interrogatories,
Scope of Discovery in Product Litigation, Brakes (Relating to
Tractor Trailer Accidents) and The Use of Computers and Power
Point in Litigation.
Brent has handled or is currently handling products cases
against Toyota, Ford, General Motors, Firestone, The Budd Co.,
Massey-Ferguson, FMC, Wilkie Manufacturing Co., Olin/Winchester,
Honda, Nissan, Isuzu, Mazda, Yamaha, Henny Penny, Montgomery-Kone,
Fruehauf, Cosco and Evenflo.

Kathy is the managing
shareholder in the firm, a member of the Fort Bend Bar
Association, Houston Bar Association and is a director of Texas
Trial Lawyers Association. She has been listed in Who's Who in
America.
Kathy received her
undergraduate degree from the University of Dallas where she
graduated cum laude in 1980. She received her J.D. from the
University of Texas School of Law in 1983. From 1984 to 1988
she was an associate in the firm of McColloch, Ellis & Payne,
where she handled insurance defense and insurance subrogation
litigation. From 1988 through 1991 she continued with the firm
in a contract position while she focused on their daughters. In
May of 1995, she and Brent formed their own firm which
specializes in all types of personal injury and general civil
litigation, with the primary focus on product liability and
vehicle collision cases.
Kathy has written and
presented a paper on Purchasing Equipment for the Newly Created
Small Law Office at the annual American Trial Lawyers
Association convention in the summer of 1997.
